Not seeing your insurance? Call (626) 354-6440 or send a message through the contact form. We accept all insurance and may still be able to help, either as an out-of-network provider or by working out a sliding-scale arrangement.

Out-of-network and superbills

If your plan has out-of-network mental health benefits, we can provide a monthly superbill so you can submit for reimbursement. Many PPO plans reimburse 60–80% of the session fee after a deductible — call your insurer and ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

Sliding scale

We offer a limited sliding scale on a case-by-case basis. We look at household income, household size, and what's actually realistic for you. We'd rather have a real conversation than a generic policy. Mention it on the first call.

What insurance does and doesn't cover

Most insurance plans cover medically necessary outpatient psychotherapy. Some plans require pre-authorization for ongoing care, especially after a certain number of sessions; we handle that on our end.

What insurance generally does not cover:

  • Couples or relationship counseling, when no individual diagnosis is involved (some plans do; check yours)
  • Letters in support of gender-affirming medical care that exceed standard documentation (some plans cover; many don't)
  • Court-ordered evaluations
  • Coaching, life advice, or services without a clinical diagnosis

A note on the No Surprises Act

If you are paying out of pocket or are uninsured, federal law gives you the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before you start care. Read about the Good Faith Estimate →

What to have on the first call

Your insurance card, your member ID, and the name and date of birth of the person who'd be the primary policyholder. If you don't have all of this handy, call anyway — we can sort it out.
