1. Cancellation and no-show

We require 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, and missed sessions with no notice, are billed at the full session fee. Insurance does not reimburse for missed sessions; this fee is the client's responsibility.

2. Lateness

If you are late, your session will end at its originally scheduled time so the clinician can be on time for the next client. If you are more than 20 minutes late without contact, the session is generally treated as a no-show.

3. Contact between sessions

Brief, scheduling-only messages are answered during business hours. Clinical content between sessions (longer messages, emotional content, between-session check-ins) is best held for the next session unless previously discussed with your clinician. We do not provide 24-hour clinical availability.

4. Court appearances and legal matters

We do not perform forensic evaluations or function as expert witnesses. If your clinician is subpoenaed to testify or produce records, we charge our standard hourly fee for preparation, travel, and court time, billed in full-hour increments. Court fees are the client's responsibility regardless of insurance.

5. Social media and dual relationships

We do not connect with clients on social media. If your clinician's profile appears in your "people you may know" section, that is automatic; please do not take it as an invitation. We do not respond to direct messages, friend requests, or comments on social media platforms.

6. Termination of services

We may recommend ending or transferring care when: (a) the work is complete, (b) treatment is not benefiting you, (c) a different level of care is needed, (d) safety considerations require it, or (e) other circumstances make continuing inappropriate (including fees that remain unpaid after good-faith efforts to resolve them). We will provide referrals when termination occurs.

7. Gifts

We appreciate the thought, but we do not accept gifts of significant monetary value. Small handmade or symbolic items are accepted at the clinician's discretion.

8. Recording

Sessions are not recorded. Clients may not record sessions without the prior written consent of the clinician.
